What Can Be Returned

We want you to love what you receive. If a ready-to-ship piece is not right for any reason, we accept returns within 14 days of delivery — no questions asked, as long as the conditions below are met.

Our promise: If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason — reach out to us first. We will always try to find a solution that works for you, even in cases that fall outside our standard policy.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or refunded under our standard policy:

  • Custom & bespoke pieces — designed and made exclusively for you from scratch. Every custom piece is approved by you at the CAD stage, prototype stage, and before shipping. We cannot accept returns on pieces made to your personal specifications.
  • Engraved or personalised items — any piece with personal engraving, initials, dates, or custom text.
  • Items returned after 14 days — returns initiated after the 14-day window will not be accepted unless the item is damaged or defective.
  • Items that have been worn, altered, or resized — returns are only accepted on unworn, unaltered pieces in original condition.
  • Items returned without original packaging or IGI certificate — all returns must include the original Variation packaging and the IGI certificate that came with the piece.
Custom Pieces — Our Commitment
While custom pieces are non-returnable, we take every step to ensure you are completely satisfied before we ship. You approve the CAD design, the prototype, and the final piece. If something is genuinely not as approved, we will address it — contact us directly and we will find a solution.

Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • Item must be unworn and unaltered — in exactly the condition it was received
  • Item must be returned in its original Variation packaging — box, pouch, and any accompanying materials
  • IGI certificate must be included — returns without the original certificate will not be accepted
  • Return must be initiated within 14 days of the delivery date
  • Return must be approved by us before shipping — do not send items back without prior confirmation from our team
Important: Please do not ship your return without first contacting us and receiving a return authorisation. Items sent back without prior approval may not be processed and could be returned to sender.

How to Return

Initiating a return is simple. Follow these steps and we will guide you through the rest:

Wait for return authorisation — we will review your request and confirm eligibility. Do not ship the item before receiving our confirmation.

Pack the item carefully — include the original packaging, IGI certificate, and all accompanying materials. Use a secure, padded box.

Ship to our address — we will provide the return shipping address once your return is authorised. We strongly recommend using an insured, tracked courier.

Refund processed — once we receive and inspect the item, your refund will be initiated within 2 business days to your original payment method.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method.

Please note: Refund timelines are from the date we initiate the refund — not the date we receive the return. Bank processing times are outside our control. If you have not received your refund after the above period, please check with your bank before contacting us.

Our Recommendation
When returning at your own cost, please use a tracked and insured courier. Variation is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit. We strongly recommend Sequel Logistics, Blue Dart, or FedEx for high-value returns.

Resizing & Adjustments

We understand that ring sizing can be tricky — especially when buying online. We offer free resizing within 30 days of delivery so you can wear your piece with complete confidence.

  • Free resizing — available within 30 days of delivery on all ring purchases
  • Contact us on WhatsApp or email to arrange — we will guide you through the sizing and return process
  • Customer is responsible for shipping the piece back to us for resizing
  • We will ship the resized piece back to you at no charge
  • Resizing beyond 30 days of delivery may be available at a charge — contact us to discuss
Not sure of your size? Message us on WhatsApp before ordering — we will help you determine the right size and can advise on sizing for specific ring styles to reduce the need for resizing after delivery.

Damaged or Wrong Items

In the rare event that your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect — contact us immediately. We will resolve it without hesitation.

Do not open a damaged package further — photograph the outer packaging and the item exactly as received before doing anything else.

We arrange collection — for damaged, defective, or wrong items, we cover all return shipping costs and arrange collection at a time convenient for you.

Replacement or full refund — your choice. We will either send a replacement or process a full refund to your original payment method.
Every Variation order is fully insured in transit. If your piece is damaged during delivery, we will file the insurance claim on your behalf — you do not need to deal with the courier directly.

Can I return a ready-to-ship piece if I change my mind?
Yes — as long as it is within 14 days of delivery, the item is unworn and unaltered, and it is returned in its original packaging with the IGI certificate. Contact us first to initiate the return before shipping anything back.
Can I return a custom piece?
Custom and bespoke pieces are non-returnable as they are designed and made exclusively for you. However, if your piece is not as per the approved design, we will address it — contact us directly and we will find a solution.
How long does a refund take?
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we initiate the refund within 2 business days. From there, credit/debit card refunds take 5–7 business days, UPI/Net Banking 3–5 business days, and international payments 7–10 business days depending on your bank.
My ring doesn't fit — can I get it resized?
Yes — we offer free resizing within 30 days of delivery. Contact us on WhatsApp to arrange. You will need to ship the ring back to us at your cost, and we will ship it back resized at no charge. After 30 days, resizing may be available at a charge — contact us to discuss.
My order arrived damaged — what do I do?
Photograph the packaging and item immediately — before opening further. Then contact us within 24 hours on WhatsApp or at design@variation.in with your order number and photos. We cover all return shipping costs for damaged items and will offer a full refund or replacement — your choice.
Do I need to include the IGI certificate with my return?
Yes — the IGI certificate must be included with your return. Returns received without the original IGI certificate will not be processed. Please keep your certificate safe from the moment you receive your order.
Can I exchange instead of returning?
We do not offer direct exchanges — instead we process a full refund and you can place a new order for the piece you want. This is simpler and faster, especially for different designs or diamond specifications. Contact us and we will guide you through it.
